varied series of warm weather entertainments. Bring your own picnic or
enjoy à la carte gourmet selections from the award-winning Café.
First Fridays concerts are free.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m.; concerts begin at 7:00.
Music for Exhibitions
Experience this series of concert performances designed to take listeners
on a musical journey through The Frick Art Museum's temporary exhibitions.
Concerts are held in The Frick Art Museum auditorium.

First Fridays at the Frick: Pittsburgh Opera Center Young Artists
The 2008 outdoor series at the Frick opens with a performance by the Pittsburgh Opera Center Young Artists. Hailed as one of the country's leading training programs for young singers, Pittsburgh Opera Center Young Artists provides professional development to singers chosen following a highly-competitive application process, during a two-year program. Artists in the program cover principal main stage roles, are featured in a fully-staged production, work in master classes with acclaimed singers and participate in education and outreach programs.Suggested donation is $5.00 per person and children are free.

Music for Exhibitions: A Panorama of Pittsburgh's Jazz Legacy
Jazz has long been an integral and important part of Pittsburgh’s musical panorama. The Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild’s Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy Project present A Panorama of Pittsburgh’s Jazz Legacy, performed by some of the region’s top jazz musicians and educators—including Maureen Budway (vocals), Joe Negri and Marty Ashby (guitar) and Roger Humphries (drums). With insightful narration, this program will feature the world premiere of a new arrangement and spotlight world-renowned musicians, composers and arrangers from the Pittsburgh region who have changed the face of jazz. The Frick Art Museum Auditorium.
Single Ticket (available after Dec. 23):
$15 members and students, $20 non-members and guests.
Subscription (all three performances):
$38 members and students, $51 non-members and guests.
Café & Concert Subscription(Dinner at The Café and concert):
$98 members and students, $111 non-members and guests.
Concertmaster (all three performances, recognition in program):
$138 members and students, $151 non-members and guests.

First Fridays at the Frick: The Pittsburgh Symphony Brass
Our outdoor concert series continues with a performance by The Pittsburgh Symphony Brass. Led by Grammy Award winner George Vosburgh on trumpet, the Brass features some of the world's finest orchestral brass musicians playing in chamber ensemble. Combining a unique blend of virtuosity with brilliant sonority usually associated with orchestral brass, the ensemble endeavors to stretch the limitations of performance and explore a wide range of musical expression rarely achieved in brass music.Suggested donation is $5.00 per person and children are free.

First Fridays at the Frick: David Budway
Acclaimed jazz pianist and Point Breeze native David Budway is a Frick audience favorite who previously performed at a First Fridays concert in 2001 and at an Music for Exhibitions concert in conjunction with the Bakewell Glass exhibition in 2005. Over the years, Budway has performed with many jazz notables, including Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Pass, George Benson, Hank Crawford, Stanley Turrentine, and Louis Bellson. He will be joined onstage by other musicians, as well as his sister, vocalist Maureen Budway. Suggested donation is $5.00 per person and children are free.
