Teacher Workshops

The Frick offers a range of educational opportunities for teachers. They include:

Act 48 Programs
As a PDE approved provider, we offer a variety of Act 48 opportunities for teachers throughout the school year. Our interactive, standards-based workshops build on the resources of the Frick, offering opportunities for teachers to create lesson plans that relate their area of expertise with special exhibitions and the permanent collections of the Frick.  Additionally, these programs allow teachers to network with colleagues from across the area. Teachers may also earn Act 48 activity hours by attending public lectures and workshops and completing a related lesson plan. Finally, we can work with teachers or supervisors to design a special in-service day on our site or at your school.

At the Frick or At Your School
The Frick Art & Historical Center is one institution that offers multiple experiences. Consider the Frick as an educational resource for teacher in-service programs at our site or yours. Work with the Education Department to custom design an in-service day for your district, school or department. Programs are standards-based and emphasize cross-curricular connections with special attention to assessment anchors. Some suggestions for in-service programs include Writing through Art and ArtifactThe Museum as a Resource for your Classroom, Hands On! History, Art and Transportation, and Object-based Learning.
