Educational Programs

The Frick’s education department designs programs that explore the interdisciplinary nature of the site.

From fine art in The Frick Art Museum to primary sources in Clayton to the industry of transportation in our Car and Carriage Museum, our programs stress hands-on, interactive learning, provide collaborative experiences, and encourage deductive reasoning and critical thinking for all ages.

Schools & Teachers

Knowledgeable. Engaging. Interdisciplinary. Relevant.

These are just some of the words teachers have used to describe our museum educators and the tours and workshops we provide for students of all ages. We offer an array of creative, interactive, hands-on learning experiences that bring classrooms back year after year. More

Each year since 1999, the Frick has presented the Roy A. Hunt Foundation Award for Commitment to Education in the Arts and Humanities to a teacher who has demonstrated a commitment to participating in the Frick's education programs, and who has successfully integrated arts into the students' learning experience.

Teacher Workshops

As a PDE approved provider, we offer a variety of Act 48 opportunities for teachers throughout the school year. Our interactive, standards-based  workshops build on the resources of the Frick, offering opportunities for teachers to create lesson plans that relate their areas of expertise to special exhibitions and the permanent collections of the Frick.
